Thanksgiving Throwdown 2008

Last night,I went to THE BASEMENT. It was truly a life changing experience that I would strongly encourage everyone to attend...at least once. But if you do go, you will be back for more. For those of you who are unfamiliar with THE BASEMENT, it is a Christian Worship Service that is held every Tuesday night at The Cathedral of the Cross in Roebuck. IT IS AMAZING!!! It is geared to help bring in the younger crowd and to help keep them out of the party scene. THE BASEMENT helps to get the younger generation fired up for Christ and fired up to go to church. I truly believe that God lead me to my new job, where I found my new friend Ryan. In return Ryan is one of the "founders" of THE BASEMENT. With all that I am going through at this time in my life, I have turned to Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior to give me strength and a new passion for life!!

All I ask is that you check out the website. If you are interested, I would love to go with you one Tuesday!!

Raisins and Ear Aches? Who would have thunk it?

For a about a week, my ear has been bothering me. So, my friend Jenn said she read on the Internet that if you put a warm raisin in your ear for a minute, that it helps your ear. During Cooper's entire party, I could not hear out of my right ear. So, after the party I was desperate for some relief. So, I put a raisin in the microwave for about 8 seconds and in the ear it went. In my mind I was thinking this is a crazy idea. But, when I took the raisin out, OMG...I could hear again! I am not lying!! My ear is not 100% better, but it REALLY made a difference. I know it sounds like a wild idea, but TRUST ME IT WORKS!! Thanks JENN!!!

Just a tip: Don't let your 2 year catch you doing this because they will probably copy you!!

THE CAKE...

And yes, I decorated that cake. Isn't it adorable!! I was pretty proud of myself on how it turned out. Maybe I found a new profession! The cake decorating lady...But I will have to admit that my mom baked the cake and my sister in law helped me decorate it. TEAM WORK!

Sorry the pics are so small. I downloaded them from walgreens website.

More bday pics!

More adorable pictures of my sweet 2 year old!!

Coop's buddies

Here are a few of Cooper's party guests.
Mack, Jeffrey, Elena, and Casen are Cooper's buddies. They all had lots of fun at the party!!

Busy Birthday weekend

First of all, I want to give a BIG thanks to everyone who helped with Cooper's party and who came to the celebration. It was a huge success and we had SOO much fun!! And I got so many compliments on my construction zone cake. It turned out so cute!! Thanks mom and thanks lea for helping me with the cake! And thanks to my friend Julie for taking the birthday pics for me. And last but not least, thanks to Grandpa and Grammy for video taping Cooper's special day! Luckily Cooper didn't receive 2 of anything and he loved all of his gifts. His 3 favorites so far are the yellow remote control car from Aunt Jenni 0, his John Deer tool set from Julie and Clark, and the CARS race track from Nonna and Papaw. I was so glad that everyone was able to make it to the party except a few. We am so blessed to have so many wonderful friends and such a loving family. Cooper is one lucky 2 year old!!

After the party, his daddy came to pick him up for the night. Cooper was excited to see his dada and ride in his big truck. On Sunday, Andrew, Aunt Ally, and Cooper ate birthday lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. After I picked Cooper up at 1:30, we headed to his friend Kinley's birthday party. She had a bouncy bounce and Cooper and Mack loved it!! Once we got back home, Cooper enjoyed all of his new toys and was out like a light by 7:00. And then back up at 9:30. He was not a happy camper when he woke up. Finally he went back to sleep...in my bed...and we had a long night. He tossed and turned most of the night and in the meanwhile, he beat me up in his sleep. So, needless to say, he had a FUN and BUSY weekend and we are BOTH tired today. But it was all worth it!!! Now my life begins with a 2 year old!!

Cooper also spend a wonderful day with his Grammy Bobbie, GiGi, and Aunt Ally during his bday week. They took Coop to lunch and ran around town. Cooper really loves spending time with all of his family. Also, Grammy and Grandaddy got Coop a cool train, puzzle, and Roll Tide gear...and a few War Eagle things to please his daddy and grandaddy.

Also, the week of Thanksgiving,Cooper spend some time with RoRo and Papa for his bday and thanksgiving. Cooper really loved the big wheel they gave him.

About my 2 year old:

Here are a few things about my 2 year old:

1. Cooper LOVES to play outside. He use to get REALLY upset if we didn't go out.

2. He loves "CiCi" aka Lucy. Lucy is my parents dog. She is a black lab mix and so sweet to Cooper.

3. Cooper has a really long attention span for an almost 2 year old. He can sit and watch an entire Disney movie. His favorites are CARS, TOY STORY and SHARK TALES.

4. He is obsessed with ANYTHING that goes. For example, cars, buses, trucks...

5. On the way to Nonna and Papaw's every morning, he points out every vehicle and calls it by name.

6. He is a picky eater. We will never give up though! Some of his favs are: rice, hot dogs, pizza, apples, apple cinnamon fruit bars, granola bars, goldfish, sausage, waffles, and bread. You notice no veggies in that list. He will sometimes pick at them when I put them on his plate. But def. not a favorite.

7. At bedtime, he enjoys a bubble bath with his bath toys. Then we put pjs on, brush teeth, and read a book in the rocking chair. Last night, he made me sit on the ottoman and he sat in the rocker and read me a few books. It was so sweet.

8. Cooper is NOT shy! He really loves everybody and is generally a happy toddler.

9. Cooper still sucks a "pappy". I am not real concerned about taking this away quite yet. Just as long as it is gone by Kindergarten.

10. Cooper also still sleeps in his crib every night. He has not tried to crawl out yet. So, I guess we will convert his crib into a big boy bed when he tries to escape.

11. Just recently has Cooper started throwing classic 2 year old tantrums. He has only thrown a couple though.

12. He goes to MDO at First Baptist of Alabaster 4 days a week. When Papaw/Nonna take him to school, he runs right in with a smile on his face.

13. He has a best friend named Mack. Mack is in his class at school. And since Mack's fam lives in Calera too, we have playdates outside of school.

14. Cooper can count (with help of course) to 8.

15. One of his favorite words is YELLOW. He thinks everything is yellow. But Nonna and Papaw said that they play games with colors and he knows his primary colors. He actually says the word!

16. His favorite drink is SWEET TEA. Thanks to his Grandpa Lynn and Grammy Kim. He does not get to drink it often, but when he does, he guzzles it down like he is dying of thirst.

17. He refers to himself as "Coop".

18. Cooper is not very fond of hair cuts. He is not one of his favorite pasttimes.

19. Cooper is so snuggly and lovable. He loves to give aways kisses and hugs!

20. Cooper is starting to talk SOO much now. He sometimes says, "mama, I want to dance!" when he hears music. He knows about 40-50 words. Maybe more. And he is now starting to repeat things. Better watch what you say!!

21. I guess that is enough fun facts about my amazing 2 year old!! And I guess that was more than just a few!

Happy Birthday Sweet boy!!

Dear Cooper,
It is 2 days until your second birthday and I couldn't be more proud. You are the best thing in my life and I love you with all of my heart! We have such a special bond and I cherish every moment that we spend together. Whether it is laying on the couch watching a movie, playing cars, rocking you before bedtime with a book, or dancing in the living room...we always have fun together! These first 2 years of your life have very memorable. As a family, we have been through a lot. But always remember that you are loved by SO many people and we all take such great care of you. I look forward to being right by your side as you grow up!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Coop!!
I love you,
Mama

In the mind of an (almost) 2 year old...

Where do I begin...On Thursday morning, I slept until 6:15. That is kinda late for me, but I needed my rest. My mom and Nonna decided to keep me out of school today so I could rest up for that night. See, my mom HAD plans for us to go to a church function with Mack and his mommy, but you see...I had plans of my own. My plans for the day were to NOT take a nap until 4:00 and to NOT eat lunch. Man, was my Nonna trying really hard to make it all happen, but me being almost 2, I really didn't want to do anything she wanted me to do. So around 12:00, my Nonna called my mommy at work and told her the NO napping situation. My mom told her that surely I would crash soon. Boy, did I have them fooled!! So around 3:00, my papaw got home and we went outside to play. I guess my papaw's plan worked because at 4:00, I was out like a light. At 5:20, my mom came to pick me up. And let me tell you, I WAS CRANKY!! I did not want to put my pants on and I gave my mom a run for her money! On the ride home, I was actually a pretty happy camper until we started getting close to the house. See, my mom told me that we were going to see Mack. But since I am soooo smart, I knew that Mack didn't live in our neighborhood. But what I didn't understand was that Mack's mommy and Mack would be at my house. So, here's where the story gets crazy. My mom and I pulled into the driveway, and Mack's mom was in Mack's dad's truck. I really wanted to ride in that truck and I surely let them know. I screamed and pointed at that truck. I said "dis" and "truck", but they didn't do as I said. Then Mack and Mack's mom decided they wanted to ride in our car. I wanted NO PART of this! What were they thinking?! I was so upset and Mack's mommy tried her best to make me happy. She even gave me Mack's goldfish. To make a long story short, the only place the 4 of us went last night was to the gas station and back to my house. Once we were back at my house, I was HAPPY and ready to play with my best bud Mack. And I can assure you that this is only the beginning of MY TERRIBLE TWOS!!!

10 more days...

until Cooper turns 2! I cannot believe that his birthday is almost here. I have been planning his party for over a month and I am sooo excited to see how it all turns out. This weekend I will be cleaning, making signs, going to the store, and preparing for the party. I know I am more excited about Cooper turning 2 then he is. Basically, because he has no idea how old he is.

Roll Tide Weekend

Just a little weekend update:
First, the best news of all, ALABAMA is 10-0, #1 in the nation!!! Cooper and I went to Jon and Missy's to watch the game. Andrew picked Cooper up right when the game began. So, I was without child for the night and most of the day Sunday. The game was a nail bitter, but it was an AWESOME game!!! I got home around 8:30 and laid on the couch on watched tv. On Sunday, I drank my coffee and relaxed on the couch. After that it was time to get to work. I cleaned house for about 3 hours and then ran some errands. When I got home, Cooper and Andrew were there. And then it was off to take Cooper's 2 year old shots at my parents house. My parents live on some land in the woods, so if you can only imagine all of God's beautiful creations that we were able to get pictures of. Cooper was yet again not very cooperative. He was as cranky as ever. Every time he would catch me pointing the camera at him, he would fuss at me. I am not sure why he would feel that way, I never take pics of the child. After his photo shot, we had a yummy dinner at Papaw and Nonna's house. Well, Nonna, Papaw, and I did. Cooper just mashed up his cornbread and then became Mr. Silly while eating it crumb by crumb. Anyways, that was my wonderful weekend. Hopefully I will have his 2 year pics posted soon. All in all, I got some great pictures of my ALMOST 2 year old. 12 more days until Cooper turns 2!!!!

Pumpkin Patch

These are the last of the October Fun pictures. On the Saturday before Halloween, Cooper and I went to local church to get a pumpkin. We were their first costumers, so we had to pumpkin patch all to ourselves. Cooper was amazed at all of the big orange round things everywhere. So, now that Halloween has passed and it is the 7th day in November, LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN TO COOPER'S 2ND BIRTHDAY!! 16 DAYS UNTIL MY BABY TURNS TWO YEARS OLD. Being so close to Thanksgiving and Christmas, these next 2 months are going to be CrAzY!! Wish me luck!!!!

My best bud Mack

Cooper and Mack met at The Frist Baptist of Alabaster MDO when they were about 1 1/2 years old. Mack just celebrated his 2nd bday and Cooper is about to be 2 in 16 days. We had so much fun at Mack's party. Cooper played in the bouncy house just about the entire party. Needless to say, he was dead tired that evening. But it was worth it. Cooper's most favorite thing about school is MACK. He loves that boy! He says, "Mack play?" on the weekends and at night. I am so glad that Cooper has a sweet best friend and I hope that they stay friends forever. My best friend and I have been friends since Kindergarten, so I know it is possible. It will be up to his mom, Jennifer, and I to make that happen.

Happy Halloween

Here are a few pics of my little spider! He wore his spider costume to Barrett's Boo Bash the weekend before Halloween. Cooper loves going to Barrett's parties and that is our fun Halloween tradition. On Halloween, I dressed up as Minnie Mouse and Cooper just wore his spider hat along with a cute Halloween shirt that is covered up by his jacket. Since he was just getting over the stomach bug and still had an ear infection, we just walked to a few houses with Papaw. Along the way, we ran into Coop's friend Casen. And of course, I had to stop and capture the moment.

Skittles and a Photo shoot

So, Friday night since Coop was still recovering from his sickness, we just went to a few houses to trick or treat. I am sure that it wasn't the best choice by me, but I gave him a few skittles. And guess what they did not make him sick. So, when Papaw, Coop and I got home, we ate burgers with Nonna. And we had soooo many trick or treaters. Cooper helped me, aka Minnie Mouse, pass out candy. On Saturday, we were LaZy! On Sunday, we went to church, grocery store, and to Aldridge Gardens. I discovered what profession I do NOT want to be...Child Photographer! OMG, I could handle babies and older kids, but not toddlers. I got a bunch a really cute ones....of his back!! I am going to try round 2 this next weekend. Since it was such a beautiful day, there were so many people at Aldridge Gardens that had the same idea as me. But all in all, we had a good weekend and best of all Cooper seems to be feeling better and is actually eating again. Hopefully I did not just jinx him!!!

I will hopefully be able to post some fall pics soon!

With God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
