Two Year Old Stories

Story #1:
Last night,Cooper and I were sitting on the couch watching one of his new favorite movies, Shrek the Halls (compliments of RoRo). When Cooper started crawling towards the end of the couch onto the end table. As he was about to get on top the end table, he cut his eyes at me and while shaking his head and finger at me, saying "no no no" (compliments of Papaw) and proceeded to climb on the table. What a smart guy. He knew he was doing something wrong. And yes, I made him get down and I explained how he could get hurt if he were to fall.

Story #2:
While we were finishing up dinner, I left Cooper in the dining room while I went to the kitchen. While in the kitchen, I heard a plate hit the floor. I peeked around the corner to find my son ON TOP of the dining room table! He pointed to his plate and said, "MESS MOMMA!". Luckily, I had already cleaned the plates off, so there was only a little bit of spaghetti-o sauce on the floor.

Cooper's new phrases:
"MINE"
"I GET IT"
"I DO IT"

He is defiantly an independent 2 year old! But don't let him fool you, he is still a Momma's boy.

Sick Sick Sick

First I would like to say thank you to everyone who made Cooper and I's Christmas wonderful. Thanks to all the grandparents and to the best great grandmother for loving my Cooper so much! Since last Saturday, Cooper has been showered with gifts just about every day. Our house looks like Toys "R" Us. Besides all of the wonderful things that go along with the holidays, sometimes comes sickness. This crazy Alabama weather that just can't seem to make up it's mind has taken a toll on my sweet Cooper. It all started Sunday morning with a little congestion, Tuesday night HIGH fever, Lots of coughing, and runny nose. Not much sleep for the past 3 nights for any of us. So, this morning Cooper's wonderful Papaw is taking him to the doctor. Some might ask, why aren't you taking him? Because unfortunately I have to work today. So, we will know within the next hour, what is wrong with Cooper.
Say a little prayer for Cooper to get well quick!!

Doctor update:
Ear infection in his left ear, virual infection, and he has to do his breathing treatment every 3 hours until his cough goes away. And the doctor said that he will probably have to have tubes within the next month.

Busy Busy Busy

The busiest season has arrived. Well, mine actually started with a Girls Christmas party the first Saturday in December. That was a much needed party, but I missed my Coop! I got a gift card to Target and Starbucks gift card. Then I had my supper club dirty Santa with my Chi Omega Sorority sisters. I got a really awesome book and cd from my good friend Mir. And Rachel gave us all a cd with fun college songs on it. It pumps me up on the way to work. And then last night, we had a neighborhood Christmas dinner. Cooper had a blast playing with all of the "big" kids. So, after work today, we are heading to Grandpa and Grammy's house and then going to ATLANTA for the Wiggs' Christmas celebration. I am so excited for Cooper to see all of his cousins. I will post some pics after Christmas! The week of Christmas is going to be crazy busy for Cooper.Coop is going to be a traveling man. All of his grandparents love him soooo much and all want to see him. He is so lucky to have 4 sets of loving grandparents and I know he is going to get SO many gifts. I love to see my boy smiling and happy! Thanks to all that make that happen!

Love,
Margie

The sweetest thing...

Every night after bath time, Cooper and I get in the rocking chair for a story and we say our prayers together. At first, we would just say our prayers out loud. Now, we both close our eyes, fold our hands and bow our heads. It is by far the sweetest thing to see and hear your child say their prayers. To end our prayer, I make him repeat me...I love Jesus, AMEN. It is such a priceless moment that I will always think of and smile.

My 2nd bday, 2 shots, and 1 sticker later...

So, on Wednesday, Cooper had to go to the doctor for his 2 year check up. In the waiting room, he was so happy and playful. There was a lady with her infant in the carseat that Cooper really loved. He would go over to the baby, say "baby", and try to give the baby her pappy. It was the sweetest thing. So, anyways, the nurse comes to the door and says," Cooper Davenport". Cooper whole attitude changed. Dun Duh Duh!! Cooper pitched a fit when the nurse tried to weigh and measure him. He was pretty good with Dr. Matheson until she tried to look in his ears. You would have thought that she was trying to chop his ear off the way he was crying. To end our eventful trip to the doctor, Cooper got 2 shots in his little leg. It broke my heart that he was so upset. But thank goodness,he was not upset for long. And on the way out, he even got a Christmas sticker. And Dr.Matheson said that Cooper seems to be developing right on track! Most importantly, she said that she did not hear his heart murmur anymore. Praise the Lord!! She told me to keep up the good work and to come back in a year. But I am sure we will be back before then with some sort of sickness.

I am such a proud mother and I am so blessed to have Cooper in my life!! We are like 2 peas in pod!!

Cooper's stats:

Weight 27 lbs 4oz (25-50% average)
Height 34in (25-50% average)
Head Circumference 51.5cm (90% just plain big)
Big noggin = big brain = smart child = scholarship = HAPPY MOMMA!!!

All Aboard!

Polar Express Ticket $27
Waiting for a hour in the cold: tiring and a bit stressful
Seeing the look on Cooper's face when the train arrived: Priceless

Lessons Learned:
1. Don't put Cooper in footie jammies. They were cute, but shoes would have worked better.
2. Even though they say to get there an hour early. 30 minutes early is perfect.
3. Sign up as early as possible, so we don't have to go at 8:00 pm on Sunday night.
4. And for a one hour train ride, there is no need to pack 4 diapers, 3 snacks, 2 sippy cups, and a blanket.
5. Make sure your camera battery will hold a charge for at least a few hours.

Roll Tide Roll!

How stinkin' cute is Cooper!
Even though Bama lost to Florida, we still love Alabama. They had an awesome season!
ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Naughty or Nice..you be the judge?

Dear Santa,
Even though I haven't eaten all my veggies, I promise I have been good this year. I have been sweet to my momma and obeyed all of her rules. All I want for Christmas is a train set. I promise to leave you some milk and cookies. I think momma said we are going to even sprinkle some reindeer food out on the front yard. So, please come down my chimney on Christmas Eve.
Love,
Cooper

Here is a peak inside my room...

Come inside...
Here are a few things in my room. My momma is in the process of deciding how my BIG BOY room will look. She is leaning towards vintage cars, trucks, and trains. I still like sleeping in my crib. So, I might still be in it for another 6 months or so. But,if I decide to crawl out, It could be sooner.
Love,
Cooper

Fall pictures

Here are some more pictures that I took with Erin's camera

More of Cooper's 2 year old pictures

I took these pictures with my friend Erin's REALLY nice camera that I fell in love with. These pics were taken at Aldridge Gardens, Papaw & Nonna's house, and at our house. Enjoy!

Cooper's 2 year old photo shot...pictures taken by Momma

Some of my favorites of Cooper.

Pic #1: Of course all children look ADORBALE while they are sleeping!!

Pic #2: What a smile! I love this picture for 2 reasons,
#1 his silly smile,#2 he is loving that apple. And that makes momma smile!

In the third picture, Cooper spotted the geese flying in the lake at Aldridge Gardens.

In the last 2 pics, Cooper found some weeds in our back yard to play with. Not my flower of choice, but he didn't have much to choose from.

I love all of the many expressions of Cooper. He keeps me on my toes!

Countdown to Polar Express...

4 more days to the Polar Express Train Ride with Mack and Jenn!
Last night Cooper and I watched the Polar Express on ABC Family 2 times. It is a really good movie and this Sunday we get to experience the real thing. The boys will be dressed in their jammies and ready for Santa. I will post pics as soon as I can after the big event. Can't wait!!

Some of my favorite things my 2 year old says...

**" Mone Momma, I wanna dance" aka " Come on Momma I want to dance"

**" Momma"...the scream from the crib in the early morning.

**" Sorry","Thanks","Pease"...such good manners my little man has!
story: the other night, we were playing a little rough and he bonked my head pretty hard with his head. Me being a wuss and Coop being a tough guy, I said, "ouch!". It really did hurt! Anyways, he looked up at me with a sad face and said, "sorry". My child is so sweet!!

**"OH!" For example, when our freezer makes ice it makes a loud noise, so Cooper looks at me with this confused little look and says "what's that?". I tell him that it was the freezer making ice, then he will look at me, shake his up and down, eyes perked up like that is what he thought and says, "OH!".

For some crazy reason, my mind has gone blank. I guess that is what happens when you turn 30 and you have a 2 year old! But, what I love most is when he jibber jabbers and adds "papaw, nonna,or momma" into his little conversation.
He is just the cutest darn thing!! Love you Coop!!

Thanksgiving 2008

Our Thanksgiving holiday was wonderful! On Thursday morning,Andrew brought Coop home around 10:45. Cooper had been with his RoRo and Papa spending time for the holidays in bham. Then around 12:00, Cooper and I headed to Aunt Angie and Uncle Don's for some yummy Thanksgiving food and to hang out with the fam. After 3 attempts and 3failures on Cooper taking a nap, I gave up!! He was running into walls, being silly, and a bit cranky too! But, I knew that he would crash in the car on the way to Grandpa and Grammy's house. And I was so right!

On Friday, Grandpa made chocolate syrup and biscuits...he tired, but nobody makes it quite like mamaw. Cooper ate a few bites and said 'mmmm'. That evening, we went to the Bass Pro Shop to see the Christmas Wonderland. And guess who was there...SANTA and only a few people in line. So, we hopped in line. I was so proud of Cooper, he didn't cry, he really had no expression at all. He really loved the train sets and the big fish aquarium. We will definantly have to go back when it is less crowded.

As for the rest of the weekend, we didn't do anything but get our tree on Sunday. And to top it off, it rained the whole way back home with the tree on top Holly Honda! And thanks to my kind neighbor, my tree made it to the livingroom into the stand. Now tonight, I will have to decorate it with the help of my little 2 year old!
Good times!

Oh, I almost forgot...ROLL TIDE ROLL! 12-0, #1 in the nation!! Look at Florida, the tide is coming for you!!

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and just remember that nobody said that life would be easy, live everyday to it's fulliest, and it's the little things in life that make people smile!

Love always,
Margie
