Coop has the Croup!
My sweet sweet son has the croup. On Monday night around 2am, Coop started coughing like a barking seal. I ran in there to find him standing up gasping for air. That was one of the most scariest moments of being a mommy...so far. I tried to give him his breathing treatment and that just upset him 10x more. Which made him barely able to catch his breath. I was panicking and crying. All in all, trying to stay calm for Cooper. I called my parents and Bernard came straight over. My mom told me to take him in the bathroom, close the door, and run the shower on hot. So, that is where Bernard found us when he arrived. My first reaction was to throw Coop in the car and head to the ER. Coop went straight to Papaw when he arrived. He was calm at this point. I called the after hours nurse. She said that it sounded like Coop had croup. For the rest of the night, Coop slept with Papaw in the recliner. He didn't cough much more the rest of the night. The next morning, I went to work and Coop went to Papaw and Nonna's house for the day. We spent the night that night with my parents for help and support. I was able to stay with Coop on Wednesday and that night we headed to Grandpa and Grammy's house. And tonight, Grammy Bobbie is coming into town to help out tonight and tomorrow. We are so blessed to have such wonderful grandparents in Coop's life. As of today, he is still running some fever and coughing a good bit. Just keep my little man in your prayers.

Big Bugs, Ducks, Fish, Dying eggs, and Bunny Cake
This weekend was the best weekend I have had in a LONG TIME. Coop and I took off of school and work Friday and headed to Huntsville to see Grammy Bobbie and Grandaddy Larry. We arrived around 12:ish. Coop did great on the ride there! The drive was quick and easy, which was music to my ears! When we got there Grammy B was ready to entertain. She had all of her Easter decorations up for Cooper to enjoy. First thing Coop did was go up to "his" playroom and started playing with firetrucks. This was the first time Grammy B had heard Coop's fire engine. And boy was it loud :). It was so wonderful being welcomed into their house with open arms. It felt like home. On our beds were Easter baskets full of goodies. Grammy made Coop a bug hat and got him a bug outfit to wear to the Botanical Gardens on Saturday. For lunch Grammy took us to Rosies. Her favorite Mexican restaurant. Coop's favorite part was the big balloon that he got. Once we got home, Aunt Ally and Grandaddy were there waiting. Coop was thrilled to see everyone. We hunted Easter eggs, grilled out, and played outside. Coop really enjoyed helping Gr-daddy do yard work. He was such a great helper! This is the best age!! On Saturday, we went to Botanical Gardens to see the BIG BUGS. The whole time we were talking about going, I thought we were going to see Live Bugs. But thank goodness they were not real. They were huge! It was pretty cool. Once we got back to the house and ate lunch, it was time for Aunt Ally to head back to Bham and for Coop to head for the bed. After nap, we were rocking and rolling again. We went to the park to feed ducks and fish. This was so fun for Cooper. I think C ate more bread than the animals. It was such a beautiful and fun day! That night we chilled out at the house. C dyed eggs for the first time. And for dessert both nights, Coop was treated was chocolate bunny cake! Yummy! On Sunday, we ate breakfast outside and C did more yard work. Cooper was very sad to leave and cried all the way down the street. But was out like a light once we hit the interstate. And as you can imagine between Bobbie, Larry, and I, we took over 1,000 pictures. We had lots of moments that were made into wonderful memories! Thanks for such a wonderful and much needed vacation! I can't wait to go back!!
I will be posting pictures as soon as I can.

A Historic Day
Dear Cooper,
On Tuesday, January 20,2009, Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President. The reason why it is a historic day is that he is the first African American President of the United States of America. George W. Bush served as our President for 8 years and now is passing his duties to Obama.
What were we doing during Barack Obama's Inauguration:
I was at work at Kevco Carpets and Vinyl as Office Manager. We watched some of the Inauguration at work.
And you were with your Grammy B. You played at the house, watched Wild Hogs, ate at the Cheesecake Factory with GiGi, Aunt Ally, and Grammy B. I know Wild Hogs is probably not a good choice for a 2 year old, but you LOVE that movie. You say "thunna" and "varoom varoom" when you want to watch it. I have NO IDEA what "thunna" means, but when I hold up the movie, you say "yes". That night, we ate turkey spaghetti and peaches. You ate like a little piggy! That made mommy VERY happy!! We had a fun night together playing and watching tv.
We were still living in our house in Calera. And getting it ready to sale.
So when you are older and someone ask you what you were doing when Barack Obama was sworn in as our 1st African American President, you will know the answer.
I love you,
Mommy
